A Letter to My Uterus
8.5x5.5 printed zine, hand bound
Mixed media, Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
2024

This project is based on an assignment where students are asked to create a zine about a visual design narrative that should examine and activate conversations on decolonization in design. I chose to make a poem and collage zine, featuring images of my own uterus from a surgery I had. I combined these with cut out phrases from my favorite book, making my own meaning out of them. The lettering on the covers was creating from wooden children’s stamps. I also hand bound the zine using a Japanese bookbinding technique.

This zine is also featured in Thread, an exhibition curated by Celeste Tooth at the Make Studio Gallery in Baltimore, MD.
