Ear Piercings
Lithograph: layer 1 photo plate, layer 2 stone
This project is from an assignment where students were tasked with practicing 2 layer registration and photo-positive plates. I created the images in Illustrator and then traced the first layer onto Truegrain and the second layer onto the limestone which I completed with autographic ink. After exposing the plate, I printed layer 1 in color and then printed layer 2 in black.
Lithograph
This project is from an assignment where students were tasked with practicing touche and autographic ink techniques. I chose to draw a house on chicken legs (Baba Yaga’s house). I created the image in Illustrator and then traced it onto the limestone where I continued to draw it in autographic ink. The cloud-like formations were drawn around it with touche, adding texture and movement as the house moves along the page.
Слава Украине! (Glory to Ukraine!)
Screenprint
This project is from an assignment where students were tasked with creating a bandana design about a chosen topic that pertains to their identity. I chose to make a bandana with pixelated Ukrainian embroidery symbols, representing myself, my family, and my culture. The bandana design was both screenprinted on paper and fabric so I can have a variety of ways to present it. The design was created in Illustrator prior to printing.

This project is part of my Eastern European food series. Goal of this piece is to create wordplay with English translations of dishes that I grew up eating. Pickled herring under a fur coat is the direct translation of a holiday dish called Shuba. Shuba literally means fur coat, so I thought it would be funny to illustrate the fish in a coat and print it.

This project is part of my Eastern European food series. Class assignment asked us to illustrate two things that go well together. In my case, I chose borscht and sour cream which are a perfect pairing. This was my first time creating work revolving around the food of my culture.
